As a Training Member of the Association for Group and Individual Psychotherapy (AGIP) and a registered Training member of the UKCP, I am experienced in Psychodynamic counselling and Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy work with individuals, on both long and short term basis.
People decide to seek therapy for many reasons. You may wish to feel more authentically yourself, at peace in your mind and body, released from old patterns of self-doubt and worry or able to engage more fully with relationships, work and social situations.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship can offer empowerment, opportunities for growth and healing.
How I work
I provide a secure, confidential space that is supportive, non-judgemental and appropriately boundaried. The therapeutic alliance aims to guide and empower you, from a place of warmth, curiosity, challenge and respect.
My therapeutic stance is relational. I consider the developing relationship between the client and therapist as integral to the transformative work and outcomes of therapy.
My clinical perspective is informed by a pluralist approach drawing, as I do, from a wide range of theories and modalities, selecting those most appropriate to the needs of the client.
Areas or Issues I can help with; Depression, Feelings of stress or anxiety, Problems with confidence or self-esteem, Relationship Issues, Issues relating to sexuality, Difficulties at work or in retirement, Problems with family or school life, Anger management, Panic attacks, Grief, loss or bereavement, Trauma and post-traumatic stress difficulties, Cultural Issues.
