Sustainability

At Brighton and Hove Psychotherapy we are passionate about caring for people, nature, and the environment, and as such we understand that sustainability is not an optional extra, but something that must be integrated into how our business is run.

Ethics is a strong part of how we work with our clients and in how we run our business. We also understand that people’s mental health is directly linked to time spent in nature. Therefore, we want to look after it as much as we can.

Sustainability is a core part of our ethos and we understand that people, planet and economic prosperity can and must work together.

What we do

We take great care where we source our services and products buying from local, green and ethical businesses.

All paper supplies such as tissues and toilet paper comes from recycled sources and all our products such as hand soap, washing up liquid and disinfectant sprays are ecological.

Where we are responsible for sourcing our utilities (gas and electric), these are from ethical suppliers and are from 100% renewable energy.

We provide recycling facilities in our practice and encourage people to reduce, reuse, and recycle.

The coffees and teas that we buy are all fair trade and organic where possible.

We now run our practice meetings online to reduce travel to and from meetings.

Practitioners can now do their online work from home to reduce travel to our offices.

Charities we support

We believe that nature and mental health are inevitably linked, and this is why Brighton and Hove Psychotherapy is proud to support three charities that do amazing work to preserve our national and global habitats, and therefore our future:

The Rainforest Trust works to safeguard critical habitat such as rainforests around the world to protect endangered wildlife. So far they have protected 38 million acres across more than 68 countries. The Rainforest Trust allocates 100% of donations to conservation action.

Sussex Wildlife Trust  manages 30 nature reserves across Sussex protecting wildlife.  The charity provides learning opportunities, conducts research, and engages with policy makers to protect nature and wildlife across Sussex. More information about nature and wellbeing can be found here: https://www.wildlifetrusts.org/nature-health-and-wild-wellbeing

One Earth is a nonprofit organisation working to accelerate collective action to solve the climate crisis through groundbreaking science, inspiring media, and an innovative approach to climate philanthropy.
