I am a UKCP registered Psychotherapeutic Counsellor with an academic background in the field of literature and linguistics. I worked for many years in education – in schools and university. Indeed, it was through my study of literature that I began to become interested in psychoanalytic practice.
I am Michael Reeves, a UKCP registered Psychotherapist working with children and young people aged 4-18 and/or their parents/carers. I have 20 years’ experience of working with children and over 12 years as a qualified psychotherapist.
I am available for 1:1 child and adolescent psychotherapy (Integrative or Educational), parent-child dyadic work or consultations with single parents or parental couples, including foster carers, kinship carers and adoptive parents.
I am an experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor, and registered member of the BACP (MBACP), providing long- and short-term counselling. My approach is grounded in existential therapy. I work relationally and I am interested in how clients make sense of their unique embodied lived experience rather than following a rigid structure.
